Propensity evidence — possession of methamphetamine for supply — Luang-Saysy v R NZCA 301 — Rei v R NZCA398. The Crown was entitled to lead
propensity evidence of defendants’ previous conviction for possession of methamphetamine for supply. The evidence was highly probative and a trial judge could direct the jury as to how the evidence should properly be used. The case was likened to “Luang-Saysy” and distinguished from “Rei”; the drugs having been found in the defendants’ home with no suggestion of an alibi.
