The defendant was sentenced on drug dealing charges and for possession of utensils for smoking cannabis. The defendant's address was searched by police on two occasions who found cannabis, tinnies and cash. The defendant explained to the police that he sold tinnies to pay his mortgage. Aggravating factors included the duration of the offending, and the scale of the offending. The court also took into account the fact that the offending took place whilst the defendant was on bail. The defendant was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of two years and four months, taking into account early guilty plea and a small discount for personal circumstances.
