Sentencing — burglary — theft of petrol — Senior v Police (2000) 18 CRNZ 340 (HC). The defendant stole petrol from various petrol stations and when caught said that he was running low on money and needed gas. On a separate occasion, the defendant entered a property and attached a jet-ski on a trailer to his vehicle. The court noted that this was the defendant's eighteenth burglary. A discount was given for an early guilty plea. The defendant was sentenced to two and a half years imprisonment. Judgment Date: 26 June 2017
