R v Landon [2017] NZDC 15598

Sentencing — aggravated robbery — intent to obtain property dishonestly. The victim received text communications from a person he believed to be a 17 year old male, and made arrangements to met him at his home. Instead he was met by the defendant and her co-offenders. The victim was subjected to threats regarding his sexual orientation/life and was kept confined in the kitchen whilst the property was robbed. After the event the group of offenders became concerned that because of what happened the victim may take his own life and they would face charges for murder. The group only left when they were satisfied that the victim would not take his own life. Aggravating features include planning, weapons were brandished and violence was inflicted. The defendant was sentenced to four and a half years' imprisonment. Judgment Date: 17 July 2017
