Supply of methamphetamine — offering to supply methamphetamine — possession of methamphetamine for supply — drugs — drug dealer — sentencing. The defendant was sentenced having pleaded guilty to four offences related to dealing in methamphetamine. The defendant had been found in possession of seven grams of methamphetamine and had data on his phone that indicated that he had offered to sell approximately five grams. The court noted the aggravating factors of the defendant's previous convictions for drug related offending, and that he had over 100 hours of community work outstanding. The defendant was sentenced in line with the sentencing indication of three years and two months' on the charge of supplying methamphetamine; with concurrent sentences of two years' imprisonment on the remaining charges. Orders were made for forfeiture of the $3,142.90 cash found at the defendant's address and the destruction of the recovered drug related paraphernalia. Judgment Date: 30 October 2017.
