Reserved judgment — Court order — Notice of disobedience — contempt of Court — natural justice — jurisdiction — District Court Rules 2014, rr 1.9 and 19. A Registrar issued a notice of disobedience to a non-party to an Employment Court proceeding. The order against him was made without notice to him which raised concerns about breaching the principles of natural justice. Rule 19.66 was not complied with. The court found that the Registrar lacked jurisdiction to have issued the disobedience notice as the recipient was not a formal party and should not have been treated as one. The notice of disobedience was set aside in reliance on the inherent power of the District Court to regulate its own procedure and prevent an abuse of the process. Judgment Date: 13 April 2017
