Reserved judgment — spousal maintenance — Family Proceedings Act ss 63 and 64. The wife applied for a domestic maintenance order under s 63 and s 64 of the Family Proceedings Act. The wife was seeking a periodic sum of $2000.00 per week for future maintenance; or a lump sum for future maintenance; or a lump sum for past maintenance. The court was satisfied that the wife's likely earning capacity met the threshold for a qualifying circumstance and the husband was continuing to enjoy a high standard of living in comparison to the wife. The court found that there are grounds for making a Domestic Maintenance order in favour of the applicant. The respondent is directed to make payments of $1,500 per week until relationship property proceedings were concluded and to pay the applicant a lump sum payment of $70,500.00 for past maintenance.
