Whether young person acting in self defence — wounding with intent to injure. The young person was found guilty of a charge of wounding with intent to injure after stabbing the victim. It was accepted that the young person had wounded the complainant with a knife at the start of a consensual fist fight. At issue was whether the young person, the initial aggressor, was acting in self-defence. On the evidence, the Crown had proved beyond reasonable doubt that the young person was not acting in self defence.
