Harmful digital communication — name suppression — Criminal Procedure Act 2011 — extreme hardship test. The defendant appeared in Court in respect of posting a harmful digital communication and sought name suppression. The Judge noted that the defendant's name would be published unless he could demonstrate that would be extreme hardship to him, as per the Criminal Procedure Act. The defendant suffered from Asperger's syndrome. He was also seen by an experienced forensic nurse and expressed the risk of suicide as an outcome for him.
