Child in need of care or protection — custody order — additional guardians appointed — Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989, ss 14, 101 and 110. A s 101 custody order in favour of the Chief Executive was made following a declaration under s 14 that the child was in need of care and protection. The child would be in the day-to-day care of the mother’s uncle and aunt. In order for them to have the necessary powers to carry out that role in light of the child’s medical needs, they were appointed additional guardians under s 110(2)(b). **Note: names have been changed to comply with legal requirements.
