Special conditions on a prisoner returning from overseas — Returning Offenders (Management and Information) Act 2015, ss 26(3) and 27(5). An application for the imposition of interim special conditions on a returning prisoner was granted. Conditions on the prisoner included a ban on consumption and possession of alcohol, and restrictions as to residence. Such conditions were to be imposed immediately upon the prisoner’s return from Australia and remain in force for 30 working days. The conditions met the criteria in s 26(3) of the Act including the reduction of the risk of reoffending and promotion of rehabilitation.
