Appeal from decision of Board — competency — rehearing — Social Workers Registration Act 2003, ss 13, 88 — District Courts Rules 2014, r 18.19. An appeal under s 88 of the Act against the decision of the Social Worker Registration Board under s 13 to decline an application to become a registered social worker. The Act was silent as to nature of the appeal, and so under r 18.19 the appeal was conducted by way of rehearing. The Judge determined in the absence of new information not taken into account by the Board, or errors identified, the appellant had not established the Board was wrong in its determination of lack of practical experience and competence. Judgment Date: 11 May 2016.
