Interim adoption order — Adoption Act 1955, s 5. The Judge made an interim adoption order in favour of the applicants. The order was related to the respondent’s child, who had effectively been in the applicants’ care since birth. Pursuant to the Act, an interim order must be granted at first instance unless there are special circumstances that make a final order desirable. The Judge found no special circumstances in this case, but advised that counsel could submit a simple application and memorandum for a final order to be made. **Note: names have been changed to comply with legal requirements.
