Contact when parent in prison — final parenting order — Care of Children Act 2004. The Judge made a final parenting order for the child to be in day-to-day care of his mother and imposed conditions for contact between the child and his father, a sentenced prisoner. After a decision was reached during a discussion between the parties, the Judge was able to make an order by consent. It was decided the child would see his father for one hour every second month under supervision by PARS at the prison. Fortnightly telephone calls were agreed to and the father was granted permission to send letters and parcels to his son’s home address. **Note: names have been changed to comply with legal requirements.
