Aggravated robbery — whether to transfer to District Court — Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989, ss 283, 291 and 311. The Judge declined the Crown’s request to transfer the young person to the District Court for sentencing. This was a finely balanced decision as the offending included aggravated robbery. Despite that, the factors weighed in favour of rehabilitation within the Youth Court jurisdiction rather than public denunciation by way of transfer. Six months’ supervision with residence was ordered under s 311. Judgment Date: 20 July 2016. * * * Note: names have been changed to comply with legal requirements. * * *
