Ownership of stolen property — rights of ownership — good Title — defective Title — reasonable purchaser — Search and Surveillance Act 2012, s 154 — Sale of Goods Act 1908, ss 23 to 27. The stolen vehicle was returned to the original owner, in awarding possession the Court considered that a reasonable buyer would be put on notice to check the registration of the vehicle and relevant information pertaining to it, none of the purchasers who had claimed to have purchased the vehicle had done so. As a result, the Court found that the original owner retained ownership despite the sales and purchases that had taken place following its theft. Judgment Date: 20 January 2017.
