The defendant faced charges of wounding with intent to injure, injuring with intent to injure, and failing to stop. She was alleged to have stabbed the complainant in the chest and face, and then hit her in the face with a golf club. The defendant submitted that she injured the complainant by accident while trying to defend herself from an attack by the complainant. The Court examined the evidence and found the defendant's story implausible. By contrast the complainant was a credible witness. All elements of the charges were made out, and the defendant was found guilty. Judgment Date: 17 June 2022
