Sentencing — possession of methamphetamine for supply — sale or supply of methamphetamine — possession of cannabis — possession of ammunition — Zhang v R [2019] NZCA 507 — Bailey v R [2021] NZHC 2225 — R v Terewi [1999] 3 NZLR 62. The defendant appeared for sentence on charges of possession of methamphetamine for supply, sale or supply of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and possession of ammunition. She had sold between $8000 and $30,000 worth of drugs in the month prior to her arrest. The offending fell into band 2 of R v Zhang. Although the defendant had drug problems of her own, her offending was mainly financially motivated. The start point for sentence was six years' imprisonment. The allowances for guilty plea and addiction issues meant a final sentence of three years 11 months' imprisonment. Judgment Date: 8 April 2022
