Sentencing — abduction — unlawful sexual connection —possession of objectionable publications. The defendant was to be sentenced after being found guilty in a jury trial of abduction and unlawful sexual connection with a child. The defendant had also pleaded guilty to additional charges of possessing objectionable publications. The defendant had abducted the victim by taking him in his car and buying him food. The defendant then took the victim to a secluded area and offered the victim money to take photos of him. The defendant then sexually violated the victim. The Court established a starting point of six years imprisonment. The defendant received discounts for previous good character, time spent on bail, matters discussed in the cultural report, and a guilty plea on two of the charges. The end sentence was three and a half years' imprisonment. Judgment Date: 17 February 2023
