Sentencing — taking undersized shellfish — exceeding daily limit — pāua — Fisheries Act 1996 — Ministry of Primary Industries v Mahoney DC Masterton, 21 March 2013. The defendant appeared for sentence, having pleaded guilty to one charge of taking undersized pāua and one of exceeding the daily limit of pāua. The Judge took into consideration the defendant's guilty plea. In respect of the excess pāua charge, the Judge convicted and fined the defendant $1200 plus costs; in respect of the undersized pāua, the Judge convicted and fined the defendant $800. Judgment Date: 24 November 2020.
