Sentencing — aggravated burglary — demanding with menaces — unlawful possession of ammunition — attempting to escape — failing to stop for red and blue flashing lights — robbery — assault on a person in a family relationship — theft. The defendant appeared for sentence on eight charges, including aggravated burglary, demanding with menaces and assault on a person in a family relationship. On the lead charge of aggravated burglary, the aggravating features were the extent of loss suffered by the victims, the use of violence and the threats of violence. The start point for sentence on the charge was five years' imprisonment, uplifted by 30 months on the other charges and another eight months for previous history and offending while on parole. The Court imposed discounts for guilty plea, cultural deprivation and for the defendant's having been recalled to serve the remainder of his previous sentence. The final sentence was four years one months' imprisonment. Judgment Date: 1 April 2021
