Contact order — addiction — Care of Children Act 2004, s 5. Contact order amended for unsupervised contact to occur between child and parents. Child was living in the day-to-day care of the grandparents, who submitted the mother’s contact should be supervised as a result of their concerns over child’s safety. Judge considered safety of child as the paramount consideration (s 5), although in light of the mother’s abstinence from alcohol and efforts to overcome her addiction, contact was allowed to occur unsupervised. Judgment Date: 16 May 2016. * * * Note: names have been changed to comply with legal requirements. * * *
