Application for orders — methamphetamine — Substance Addiction (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 2017. The applicant sought a compulsory order over the subject person. The subject person had been using methamphetamine for 10 years, despite various attempts to stop. She now wished to attend a residential rehabilitation facility. The Court found that the subject person had a severe substance addiction, and that her health and wellbeing were at risk. She also had severely impaired capacity, and her attempts at voluntary treatment had been unsuccessful. She had managed to secure a bed in a rehabilitation facility.
