Sentencing — aggravated robbery — robbery of pharmacy — Ritalin — three strike warning — Sentencing Act 2002, s 8. The defendant appeared for sentence on one charge of aggravated robbery. He had robbed a chemist to obtain Ritalin, because his prescription was running low. The sentencing indication had set a start point of five years. The defendant earned discounts for guilty plea and his complex mental health problems, for which he had received sometimes inadequate treatment. The final sentence was three years seven months; the Court gave the defendant a first strike warning. Judgment Date: 26 September 2018.
