Domestic violence — final protection order — Surrey v Surrey [2008] NZCA 565, [2010] 2 NZLR 581 —Domestic Violence Act 1995, s 14 — relationship property proceedings — final occupation order in favour of applicant. Applicant granted a final protection order against respondent under s 14 of the Act. Respondent had carried out domestic violence throughout the relationship and as recently as one year ago. Respondent showed no insight into his inability to control his anger, and applicant continued to be at risk from him. Applicant granted final occupation order of family home pending upcoming relationship property proceedings. **Note: names have been changed to comply with legal requirements.
