Final parenting order — role of grandparents in children’s life — Care of Children Act 2004, ss 4, 5, 5A and 6. A final parenting order was made in favour of the mother. The father was soon to be sentenced for breaches of the protection order against the mother and would be permitted supervised contact only. The paternal grandparents applied for regular contact and were granted overnight contact at regular intervals. Safety (ss 5(a) and 5A) and continuity of care were key considerations.
