The defendant was found in contempt of court after refusing to follow directions given by the Judge. The defendant was given advice by the duty solicitor on how to lessen the penalty the contempt (an apology) but refused to do so, instead responding arrogantly to the opportunities given to him. The Judge referred to case law which confirmed the defendant's actions amounted to contempt of court. A sentence of ten days' imprisonment was imposed. Judgment Date: 15 August 2018.
