Appeal — failing to comply with licence — Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (Gasfitting Registration and Licensing) Notice 2010, cl 3(10) — Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006, s 162. A s 162 appeal against a decision of the Board which found the appellant in breach of his certifying gasfitter's licence was dismissed. The evidence proved the offence of failing to ensure his supervisee worked in his presence when undertaking gasfitting work, and appeal grounds of lack of jurisdiction, breach of statutory requirements and natural justice could not be substantiated. The penalty composed of $2,500 and costs of $10,000 reflected the seriousness of the matter, and were well within the discretion available. Judgment Date: 2 November 2016.
