Appeal against decision to refuse issue of firearms licence — whether the applicant is a fit and proper person to hold a firearms licence — whether the applicant presents a threat to public safety — Arms Act 1983, ss 24, 62. Successful appeal under s 62 of the Act against a s 24 decision not to issue a firearms licence. Previous firearms/explosives charges and conduct after being convicted formed the foundation of the decision. The Judge determined there were no significant risks posed to the appellant or the public by the issue of a firearms licence where the appellant would not legally be able to sell firearms as he had previously.Judgment Date: 15 March 2016.
