Appeal Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal — failure of a substantial character — refund — Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. The appellant sought to overturn the decision of the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal that the vehicle sold to the respondent was not of acceptable quality, and that it was a failure of such substantial character to warrant a refund of the purchase price. The Judge considered the appellant's claim but found that there was nothing unfair about the conclusions reached by the Tribunal and that it was clearly the responsibility of the appellant to meet the costs of vehicle repairs and storage. The appeal was dismissed. Judgment Date: 24 June 2019.
