Government removes COVID-19 restrictions
The Prime Minister has announced the removal of the remaining COVID-19 restrictions. It is no longer mandatory for people with COVID-19 to isolate for seven days. A five-day isolation period is now recommended. Mask-wearing settings for health facilities have also been reviewed.
The judiciary is reviewing the court operating protocols in light of the announcement. As it has done throughout the pandemic, the judiciary – working with the Ministry of Justice – will consider public health advice in order to ensure that the courts can continue to operate safely, the Chief Justice The Right Honourable Dane Helen Winkelmann said.
