District Court Judge Andrew Becroft has been elevated to a Judge of the High Court. The announcement from the Attorney General is here.(external link)
Judge Becroft became a District Court Judge in May 1996, serving in Whanganui. He was appointed Principal Youth Court Judge in 2001 and served in that role for 15 years before becoming Children’s Commissioner. He will be sworn in at the Wellington High Court on 5 May and will sit in Auckland.
